This was a tough interview for me, even though it was nearly 2 years since my husband's death. Many neighbors, friends and acquaintances approached me after receiving the magazine saying what a great article it was. Carole did a fabulous job with the story. She was also very empathetic hearing it.
I hope the story educated my neighbors and community about the horrors of ALS, while also communicating that it takes a village to help a neighbor in need. I was very fortunate.
One recommendation would be for the photographer not to shoot with the sun in the subjects eyes. Many people told me it was a terrible photo of me. Not a big deal to me…I am who I am. Just food for thought.

It was a fun experience however there wasn't as much interaction as I thought there would be. I was anticipating having to name and highlight more RVC businesses and promote them. Was hoping to feel more of a sense of community.

The team was great to work with, and well presented. The only thing I would like to see improved is that we have to order 20 copies, at $3 each, in order to have a copy of our article. If you are featuring someone, they should at least be given 1 copy. We searched all over to find one, and didn't.

Although I'm not one for posing for photos, they turned out well.
We didn't receive additional copies which is a little unfortunate. I am grateful they shared my story about being judged, stigmatized, misunderstood and "erased" by neighbors in my community for my mental health.
