Bidding was easy. Notifications sent when outbid on an item. Pictures of items included many views and measurements. The auction host provided clear communications about pick up times, parking and expectations. No complaints!
I have been buying from Hibid for a few years.
The platform is simple enough for anyone to use/navigate.
Hibid answers their phone, unlike other auction sites.
Any and all issues I have ever had were resolved immediately with no hard feelings from either party.
Auctions are full of information, Auctioneers are friendly and understanding.
I can't say anything negative about Hibid or the Auctioneers.
In my honest, humble opinion, this is the best auction site on the internet and I attend a lot of online auctions.
Buy for personal use, for gifting or reselling.
The bidding process went well, but I have not received any items or know what is happening. I contacted HiBid to ask about the items I bid on and was told to contact the auctioneer I sent an email tot he auctioneer last week but have heard nothing. I would like to know what is happening. If you can give me any information I would appreciate it. Thank you.
The auction had no warning or advisement that cashier check or ach transfer was the only payment method. In fact my credit card was preliminary charged $1 to ensure valid. I then paid with my card after the auction and was reversed my charges and told credit cards weren't accepted... poor model of doing business and required some real inconvenience for me with only 24hrs to pay...
Usually excellent however the last time one of the items we won was not able to be found so we received a refund. Another item was missing an important piece that was supposed to be there and that was also unable to be found. All in all still very good.
I am new to the online bidding. I wasn't sure what a "Soft Close" was. I assumed that the bidding would end shortly after the closing time, so I was surprised to discover that in some cases bidding didn't close for 3 or more hours after the event ending time. Can you shorten that up? In some cases there were no other bids until 30 + min after closing, so why hold it open?
Also, when the bidding ended, there was that message that indicated "You may have won..." which stayed there until the next morning. Can that not be confirmed up shortly after the bidding has closed?
Then the next morning when I received notification that I had won and that I had to book an appointment to pick up the items, I discovered that the times available were no longer convenient for me. The first 2 days of pick up were no longer an option. Two links were given to book a time. The first one I clicked on indicated Friday and Saturday were the only options left. So I quickly took an early Sat appointment. Then when I clicked on the 2nd link I discovered that there were Thursday options, which were more convenient. I am a little concerned because we had bid on items at the 6X6 Auction north of Mount Forest. Had we won, the only time we could have picked them up was that Monday immediately after the event. We were in the area that only day, making picking up on an alternative day virtually impossible. In our case this became a non issue as we did not win on our items. Can you be clearer prior to bidding that an appointment needs to be arranged for pick up? When you send that message after the event, to book an appointment for pick up, and if the remaining times are not convenient, can you indicate that we can call directly and arrange a convenient time? OR if the first day after the event isn't available for people to pick up, then please don't indicate that it is an option prior to the auction.
I bought a mystery box of 10 electronic items, and It's literally box of broken and dirty garbage! WHAT A SCAM! Never had that problem with other auctions. And it's not that they didn't know! It said on every box BROCKEN or missing parts. NON of 10 boxes had anything working or whole item. That is very disturbing that buyer treated that way! No wonder people was't bidding much for mystery boxes at this auction. I did this Ruito trading auction first time, and at other auctions people bidding more for that size of boxes. Now I see why, they know it will be garbage only! Never again this Ruito trading hibid auction! You can not SCAM people making mystery boxes out of GARBAGE!
Roughly 25% of my notes didn't transfer over to the "live bidding" catalog. This caused unneeded chaos in transferring manually or flipping back and forth to my actual watch list to review the notes, while keeping up with bidding.
This was my first time ever going on line and doing an auction. I signed up because a friend of mine had one going but I went to four others and bid on items there. I will continue to do this. Good pictures, explanation. Good experience picking up.
Overall, I've really enjoyed using Hibid as opposed to ebay. That being said, I do wish that there was a way to get rid of all of the fake items being sold as authentic - specifically sports and collectors cards. I have had a few issues with sellers making an item out to be authentic only to receive it and find out otherwise. I could not find a way to report a seller nor could I find a way to contact Hibid and inform them of my issue. Other than that, most everything has run smoothly. I would like to see something along the lines of reporting sellers, not so much feedback like on ebay, but something to keep the sellers accountable.
I haven't participated in online bidding with Hi-Bid for a few years because of time constraints due to life changes. I found my recent experience to be enjoyable and stress free. The changes you have made to the platform make bidding very simple. Grouping and highlighting my chosen bid items as well as the notifications when you are outbid are great solutions. I originally bid on about 25 items before I cut back to the 15 items I was successful in winning.
Have bid with high bid auctions multiple times. Great selections and deals to be found. Most recent auction there were periods when I couldn't connect to the live bidding due to lost connection. Was able to eventually reconnect through re logging in to main website and my auctions option.
Most recently purchased from a different site closer to home, so fingers crossed when I pick up items.
Never had a problem with the sellers. We have developed great relationships with several auction house employees and owners.
Overall it is good but we did have connection problems 4/22/26 which caused some problems with interactive bidding.
While there are few problematic sellers, most are amazing! I do wish there was a way to weed out the CAnadian selles that do not ship to the US.
This was the first time we ever did an online auction. It went well, we got what we wanted but were confused on the time. We should have read instructions more thorough, as it was a soft bid and we couldn't figure out why it kept changing minutes left and still bidding. All is well and we know better next time.
While bidding on an auction, I attempted to contact the auctioneer a few days before the auction with a question on one of the lots. They did not respond at all.
I have never had any issues with my bought items being shipped to me.
It's been a really great experience for the most part. I did have a item missing this week in my purchased items. Not a big deal, I contacted the auction house and talked to them about it. I told them it's the first time that's ever happen to me in two years. They are working on tracking down my missing item. I'm still very honored to be one of hibid customers. And I appreciate everyone involved in making my online buying fun, exciting, and honest..
Won a bid for "functional" cordless drill and compatible chargers. Neither drill was functional and one of the batteries did not have a compatible charger.
Don't trust the write up, they should allow viewing before purchase.
Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
Answer: Most auctioneer there are scammers, a thrift store would be better option.
Answer: YES! Confirmed by an auctioneer I know. Hibid auctioneers can see your "maximum bid" and in most states it's legal to "shill" an auction or to bid against the public bidders - to "ensure reasonable sale prices" per national auctioneers associations. Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
Answer: "Mechanically challenged" is often a term auctioneers use to indicate that an item might not be functioning properly. It usually means that the piece needs repairs, doesn't operate as intended, or may have some technical issues. It's best to reach out to the seller for a clearer explanation to avoid any surprises. By confirming the exact condition directly with them, you'll have a better understanding of what you're bidding on.
Answer: Yes, if you suspect any fraud, please contact HiBid directly at 844-775-4774. Our team is here to assist you and ensure a safe and secure experience.
Answer: Some auctioneers require credit card verification as part of the bidder registration process. This process involves a temporary authorization charge of $1.00 to ensure the card is valid. In some cases, additional processing fees or taxes might cause the amount to appear slightly higher, such as $1.46. Please rest assured that this is not an actual charge but rather a temporary hold that will be released by your card issuer. Typically, these holds clear within 5-7 business days, depending on your financial institution. If the charge doesn't disappear after this time, we recommend contacting your credit card provider for further assistance.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out regarding your bidder rating and the reasons behind it. Bidder ratings on HiBid are determined by various factors, such as your bidding activity and whether you've been permanently approved or declined by auction companies in the past. Unfortunately, HiBid support and bidders themselves cannot view or access these ratings or the specific reasons behind them, as this information is exclusively available to auctioneers. The best way to gain insight is to contact an auctioneer you have a good relationship with or one whose auctions you'd like to participate in. They may be able to provide some clarity or work with you to address any concerns.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! We understand how it can be confusing when an item is removed before an auction ends, but please rest assured it's not a scam. Sometimes auctioneers encounter unforeseen issues and may need to cancel or relist items. Keep in mind that auctioneers often work with consignors to ensure items are sold fairly, which can involve reserve prices or other considerations that may or may not be visible on specific listings. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for more details. If you have any difficulty reaching them, we're here to help facilitate communication.
Answer: Yes, HiBid regularly features a wide selection of motorcycles available for auction.
