Trisomy 16
April 24, 2026

My son & daughter n law were excited to be pregnant w/their 1st baby. Unfortunately
The baby tested positive for the extra gene. Bcause of the issues the baby could have easily have they decided to abort. Unfortunately she had to go thru 15 hrs of labor. I cried my heart out &@ my age it showed n my face. I had a hard time. This would have been my only son's 1st baby. Because his wife lived n germany the hospital she was tested was/is run by catholic nuns. I personally had never heard of these types of tests. What my son shared w/me were things that they couldn't live with. Such as missing eyes, deafness not full term. Too much. They weren't willing to carry the baby too far into the pregnancy to have the baby die n their arms. Plus bcause she was being induced the hospital would call & tell her to come in. The hospital must have called her 5/6 times & that kind of anxiety was so hard on my DNL & son. Finally n November my poor DNL took 15hrs of pain, blood, sweet & tears. So since they gave birth n Nov, the parents light a candle & how ever they acknowledge that baby. It took me a few yrs to ask my son if there was anything I could do for that 1st baby. He explained it to me so I found a necklace with tiny baby's feet w/a beautiful bs gem. Bcause I am MNL we can get ourselves in trouble. The last part of this story is neither parents did not want to know the sex. My son was not able to get to Germany because of the constant calls to come in & to b sent home, my sons MnL was w/her daughter while she brought that baby into the world. When we flew out to meet our" rainbow" baby my son pointed out where the hospital buried their unborn babies. Its a beautiful mound w/3 big crosses. A place I hope to some day have some ashes sprinkled over our GB.

Diaper Rash when season change
March 27, 2026

I've definitely noticed that my toddler's skin gets more sensitive when the seasons change. The diaper area in particular can get irritated if we're not careful. More frequent diaper changes and making sure the skin stays dry has made a big difference for us. Anyone else deal with more diaper rash around this time of year?

Wonderfully easy. I am a library lady and I love books. However, I have to say that now with websites with videos and an app, I am so excited for this surprise pregnancy. I just looked at my baby's 8 week development, reminded myself of foods to eat and avoid and feel so well-supported!

I am due October 24th, 2026! Her name is Joy, if it's a boy, his name is Alegrio (accent on the i; meaning joyful in Spanish) as I am bilingual in Spanish and speak and understand a little of many languages> :)

Horrible
January 6, 2024

No moderation on their forums. They allow misinformation, racism, and all sorts of harmful
Information to be posted. Just be extremely weary when going to this site.

Can't watch videos
February 26, 2022

This website is so loaded with advertisements, you literally can not get through even 30 seconds of the videos about your developing baby without the video getting bumped out by some lame ad, then you have to begin the video again, from the beginning. Then repeat, over and over the process. I understand they have to make their money too, but won't be visiting this website again.

Racism is overlooked
December 5, 2020

Racism is an issue. I have emailed and been ignored about why there are certain groups that are for certain races only and yet not others but I have been ignored. And one of the groups in particular they are constantly talking about "yt" it's offensive. Also there was a post about looking for black pediatricians and so out of curiosity I had one for white pediatricians and I was kicked off from being able to comment on my post was removed yet the other post remains.

This app has the worst community I've ever encountered. Their Hot Topics message board is full of mean spirited hateful women who act like this is their second chance at middle school. If you are a mother and miss your bullying days from middle school, this is the place for you. Their admins and moderators do nothing to stop the bullying. In fact, they are complacent by allowing it to go on after so many people have complained. Such a bad look for the brand.

This was my absolute favorite app when I was pregnant! The fact that it has a built-in community really helps you out. And we became such a tight-knit group. So wonderful to see all the babies and to be able to ask questions or just spill your guts to someone who's going through the exact same thing. Thank you so much!

When I was pregnant with my first child I read anything and everything I could find about pregnancy and what to expect in the upcoming months. I was very nervous. I was watching this movie "What to expect when you're expecting" and when I found out it was actually based on a book I wanted to get that book, so when I googled it, instead I found this site and I've been obsessed with it ever since. It's so informative, I found everything I could ever need here. I live in Singapore so basically I used this site for the information and the community it offers. I found out a lot through the community and it saved me from unnecessarily worrying about my baby.

I have brain damage they have bullied me for mispelling words and not being good at grammer. And all they seem to do is bash your choosen name like they have no life or something and just want to put others down constantly unless its a name on their favourite list. Then its ok and they want to be best friends. They also dont seem to understand the meaning of the word unisex and cant seem to grasp basic standard english as you asked a specific question and they give answers to a question that wasnt even asked and when you call them out on it. They go in a huff and say they can comment what they want. There doesnt seem to be a way of blocking people either and no admins on this site. So thats why they all get away with cyber bulling

This website is full of supportive women who truly care about giving helpful advice. I've never experienced the cattiness that is found on other websites (BBC). I'm so happy I found this website, and I bought the books because of it. Both the website and books are so helpful!

I found the book what to expect when expecting as the most valuable resource being pregnant. I didn't realize they had a website and an entire community around this as well. I found the information on this site both useful and accurate when I compared it to other physician sites. They have everything from baby registry to toddler problems.
