Do not prepay for any services from YourMechanic. I pre-paid for services and called today for my account balance and they informed me that my credit expired. This was not a credit that was freely given from the company, this was my own money that I had entrusted with them to keep for my use at a later date.
Screwing me around for two weeks and ripped me off so far $288. I have now paid $788. And they are trying to get me to pay an additional $650. They have chrg cc and refuse to return my $ despite my calls. A job that should have cost me a total $700 keeps getting strung out so they can rip me off. Take your car to a reputable shop...
This company is terrible. After waiting around for my appointment I called to find out they don't have the parts. No email, no text no call no nothing to tell me this. 2 employees refused to let me speak with a supervisor and both hung up on me.called a local shop that's doing the work for $350 cheaper. They his place is a scam and waist of time
One of their mechanics came to my property with a 9mm and a 357 evolver. He had a total of 3 weapons and wanted to shoe me, more. Both mechanics did defective work and Your Mechanic ended up costing ne over $435 andreused to reond. Stay away from this company and their Hispanic employees. They are all hieves. This company is based in Honduras.
Car is still not running properly. I was charged for parts and labor I was not aware of. When all was said and done the took almost $1,000 from me. Money I don't have. I have sent repeated emails and voicemails. They want to charge me $159.00 to come look at the car they never fixed. I attached one of three invoices I paid,
Thieves my bottle of expensive blue bmw coolant was stolen by mechanic my reservoir was not empty he actually over filled it and as he was done I saw him put the coolant in his car my diagnosis was bad water pump, thermostat and radiator never have seen water leaking from my car at any time the way he diagnosed my car from having all these problems is by taking the head light off and looking into hole I may be old but I'm not stupid taking advantage of older folks I will be calling police dept to file a report for theft DO NOT TRUST THEM THIEVES!
Their mechanic installed brakes backwards and charged me for the pleasure. *If* your assigned mechanic actually shows up, they will be so unskilled as to install brake pads backwards. They only use one mechanic in my city yet said that I should have him come back out and fix it. If he can't install brake pads correctly, how can he fix them?
This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic. I took a day off and waited, they never called or showed up. I was on the phone calling them, and no one could help. I requested a supervisor and it took hours for someone to call me back. They apologized and gave me a discount, so I gave them a second chance. Again, took the day off, and they never showed. Then I took the car to my local auto shop, and they quoted me 400.00 less. Go elsewhere folks!
It has been 5 or 6 years since I used YourMechanic. I used them 3 times maybe 4, and except for one time I have been pleased with the service and the cost. Today I went to the website to get an estimate for a power steering pump replacement and a serpentine belt replacement. The cost of labor has doubled, and when I opted to supply my own parts the cost of labor increased more. In the past the cost of labor was the same whether or not they supplied the parts. Also the estimate for the serpentine belt included the 2 belts for some unknown reason. I guess it is a way to charge over $100 dollars for one belt.
I thought I would try our their service as I needed a new starter for my car (a fifteen year old Toyota with the original starter). It's a very convenient service, but buyer beware.
They came out with some remanufactured part and they worked fast. I was grateful as I depend on my car to get to work and I cannnot be late. They gave me 12 month or 12k mile warranty. Well guess what?
In the 10th month the car didn't start, but since it happened once, I figured I didn't turn the key fully. Well, at exactly 11 months as 12,300 miles, the starter failed again. Talk about frustrating. 300 miles over their warranty and because I gave them the benefit of the doubt a month earlier by thinking it was my mistake versus their defective part, I get to get someone else to work on my car and pay them another fee.
Such a scam. DO NOT USE these people. They will rip you off and won't even bother to email you back when you reach out to them. Stay far away. If you need a mobile mechanics, try Repair Smith. They are backed by Auto Nation and won't hide from you when you encounter a problem.
Shame on Your Mechanic.
I arranged services with this company through Afterpay, The first appointment set for 4 days out. I appointment was set for Monday, so I called on Monday to confirm rates and to make sure they had my order correct for Brakes and Rotors. The customer service lady said yes. Then Sunday the day before the appointment I received a text that the price increased. I texted back asking what was the new rate. I was advised that it was going to be $250. I called customer services they quoted me $350. After going back and forth they settled with the amount that was told over the text. We rescheduled the amount. The day of the appointment they come out and I was told they could not do it because it was an apartment which should have been advised from the beginning. They canceled and charged me $150 for canceling the appointment. They are out of the DP and horrible. I would not suggest this service to anyone. AT ALL.
My husband set up the appointment for this morning, paid in advance to get the $50 discount. The mechanic shows up, finds that his oil tank was leaking, so he leaves & didn't come back. Contacted Customer Service and they told us that the service had been rescheduled and it would be $200 more. We were very detailed in telling them the services needed, we even had the parts & oil.
I was charged in$170, the service wasn't made and they cancelled and charged me $150 but I didn't cancel anything, their mechanic arrived 2 hours before the booked time and said he didn't know how change my jeeps headlight because it was lifted, how pathetic they are… non-professionals, dishonest, cheaters!
DO NOT HIRE! This company is a scam! At 11:00 a.m. I scheduled a replacement of a power steering pump. I was told to get service right away I had to have my own part. I drove across town to get a power steering pump so I could have it ready for a 2:00 p.m. appointment on the same day. The charge for this labor was $212, paid in advance. The Technician (Rich) shows up for this job announcing that his service ticket says to change an alternator. I had to correct Rich, stating that he was scheduled to replace the power steering pump. He told me again that his service ticket said "alternator" and I then asked him why I was instructed to also purchase one quart of power steering fluid if I didn't schedule for a power steering pump replacement. An alternator doesn't take power steering fluid. The technician (Rich) spent no more than 10 minutes at my residence. He looked under the hood of the car and told me that a power steering hose needed replaced and that my power steering pump looked "okay". I told him to go ahead and replace the power steering pump, as scheduled, and also replace the power steering hose, and I would pay any difference in labor. Rich told me he doesn't have the hose on hand. I told Rich to start working on the power steering pump and I would drive 5 minutes from my house to see if Auto Zone had this hose. Technician (Rich) refused to install the power steering pump, telling me to take it back and that I should thank him for saving me money. I told Rich that he didn't save me any money at all, because I already paid $212 for this service call to replace the power steering pump, I have the part in my hand, and now he refuses to do the work. I insisted that he go ahead and replace the power steering pump so I get some use out of my $212 and then asked him why I can't go get a hose when he is already at my residence working on my car. The technician (Rich) absolutely REFUSED to replace the power steering pump, telling me that he would send me a separate quote for a hose replacement, and I would get a $50 credit towards that service. At this point, I am completely irate having to deal with this incompetency. I told the Technician (Rich) to stay put, and that I was going to get my phone inside my house so I can call scheduling. When I came back out front with my phone, at which time I had reached scheduling agent, the Technician (Rich) was gone! Within two minutes, he literally closed up his vehicle and fled away. He did not try to call me before he left, call me after he left, and did not say a single word to my family who was in the front yard and witnessed this whole thing. About 5 minutes after Rich left, I get an estimate for $422 to replace the power steering hose. This company stole $212 of my money for a power steering pump they didn't replace and now wants another $422 to replace a hose. I called and requested a refund of my $212 and my request was refused. Reason for refusal: that I didn't call for a power steering hose replacement. When I said that I still wanted my power steering pump replaced for the money I paid and that I would get the hose replaced with a different service provider, he laughed and said "we can't do that ma'am because that is not what is wrong with your car". I told the scheduling agent that I did not call for diagnostics, that I called for a specific part replacement, and I want that job completed (as paid for in advance). The scheduling technician said "no, we can't do that". I then insisted on a refund and was told "no, we can't do that either" and then the scheduling agent hung up on me. This entire company is a fraud. They will lie to you, laugh at you, and steal your money. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company to resolve this issue. Do not give your credit card information over to hire this company!
Your mechanic is actually really good. I was wrong about it. I left a bad review before and they wouldn't let me delete it. Now I'm leaving a good one
I'm a mechanic and they did not pay me for a completed assignment which I got 5 stars for. Worst I've ever seen
Everything about this is a scam. Mechanic came hours late, claimed they couldn't perform the service due to a bolt I hate (it's the same bolt on every year, make, and model), then offered to install it on the side for cash another day. Now they're trying to charge me for the service and part (which the mechanic took with them). This was a scam from the start by the mechanic and the website. Avoid at all costs, literally.
RE: SERVICE #*******, HORRIBLE COMPANY! THIS SCUM COMPANY YOURMECHANIC/WRENCH WILL ONLY REFUND YOU THROUGH CREDITS AND NOT YOUR MONEY BACK! WHEN YOU BOOK AND THEIR OWN MECHANIC IS BEING HONEST AND SAY YOU DIDNT NEED THAT MUCH SERVICE AND YOU ARE OVERCHARGED - SERVICES WEREN'T FULLY PERFORMED - YOU SHOULD BE REFUNDED BACK YOUR MONEY AND NOT GIVEN CREDIT! Your mechanic is a scam they never came to my place… they never did the job they was supposed to do but yet they charged my card 150.00 for a cancellation fee…. Do not trust these people …. They should be ashamed of themselves…
*DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY *
Schedule An appointment for 01/19/*******@10:30, Waited 6days for the appointment, the mechanic rescheduled the *******@10:15am, rescheduling the appointment 7 days out 11/25/2024, & when calling about the appointment the customer service agent laughed in my ear as I was explaining what happened and asking for information on a new appointment, if the mechanic rescheduled the company still charges you a $150 cancellation fee, the agent also refused to assist me or give me his name or transfer me to another agent instead,he transferred me to Firestone customer service, this company gives me scamming vibes
The customer service is very rude and the mechanics do not follow the 48 hour reschedule/ cancellation request, and leaves you waiting, taking off work for a while day, very inconvenient and inconsiderate.
I would not recommend to use the service I'm stuck because I can't get my money back they would only offer to give you a "your mechanic credit" but after having a bad experience you wouldn't want to go back to them for an oil change so it's a complete lost DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY *
I booked an appointment on Thursday for Sunday (Jan 14) and Kenneth was pretty much a no call no show. I called customer service and they wanted to reschedule. However the next available time is Wednesday afternoon. I feel like they knew these mechanics and services are not available on Sundays. So don't give people the option to book on Sunday.
