Bought a new sony bravia 8 series 2 on the 27/8/2025 the tv now does not work, I was palmed off to sony repairs, it will take at least 10 for parts plus a repair visit so looks like tow weeks on a tv that cost £1750 curry will not do anything to help me until 28 days have passed iIhave no tv dreadfull service
Fridge freezer arrived damaged twice, and Currys did not allow me to even request a refund on the same day.
I ordered a new fridge freezer from Currys, ordering online.
When Currys brought the item, it was clearly damaged. It was damaged twice. The lower part was bent and to me it looked as if it had been dropped on one corner. There was also a dent in the side. This is a fridge freezer, and they are fragile.
I pointed out the damage, and we both took photos on mobile devices. They called someone, and suggested a small discount of 10%, then 15%. I declined and they took it away again.____
I went back to currys website. The website directed me to a chat bot, and after that I reached a human being so requested a refund.
They told me I have to request a refund again the following day. This was because their system would not be updated by the delivery team until then and I wasn't even allowed to request a refund until that was done. I made it clear I did want a refund. I felt I should be able to submit the request and leave it with them so explained this. This request was declined a number of times.
The delay seemed strange as the delivery team took photos and had called someone else at Currys to ask about a discount when I pointed out the damage, so had already reported the damage to currys.
I also asked for them to arrange for someone to contact me when the delivery team had updated. I. e. When I would be allowed to make the refund request. I reached two different people and they both declined. The call centre was also unable to arrange for me to speak to someone more senior until the next day. Three people told me currys can't email me about this since the email team is a separate team from customer service. Effectively noone is able to contact the email team, meaning they can't contact the customer and are no help. Noone could say what time the following day I would be able to submit the request. Someone from the call centre did agree a call back the next day but could not say what time. I am left having to take time out of work again.
I discussed it with three people including the call centre.
Outcome:
-Currys tried to sell me goods unfairly since the item they brought was visibly damaged. I'd paid for new.
-Currys created unnecessary barriers, preventing their customer service team from helping me. This is likely to frustrate customers and deter them from pursuing their rights. At points they breached basic rights in effectively insisting I had to request a refund twice over 24 hours. Once should be enough.
-I was also effectively out of pocket due to wasted time. Considering the appliance was ordered online and the delivery team have electronic devices, the delays were not explained, and were unreasonable. The delivery was a waste of time. When I asked for a refund, in refusing to allow me to leave the matter with them they also wasted hours more of my time. In web chats they take time to respond but if you turn away for a while, the chat ends, and you have to start again. I can't set aside time over the next few days as I don't know when I'll be allowed to request a refund or how much more time it will take. They make the process unnecessarily difficult.
Bringing damaged goods makes no sense. The damage was visible. They record it on their system. First it should be controlled, and visible in their system. Then the warehouse staff and delivery team should have spotted the damage when they loaded it. As well as the hole in the box, it seemed some packaging was missing. They couldn't reasonably miss all those opportunities to see the damage. Most companies would offer a clear discount and advertise as "ex-display". I paid for new and it seemed dishonest for them to even bring it. The refund process is not an individual issue or mistake, it's their policy and process, and it looks like a breach of consumer rights. If they were to apologise, it's meaningless as they prevented their customer service teams from helping or accepting the request.
Currys can't claim this was a one off. Three staff members tried to help but then confirmed the refund couldn't be requested on the same day. They record damage on their system, the warehouse staff and delivery drivers were able to see the damage to packaging, and to the appliance in two areas, but tried to give me something beat up in place of new.
They made it clear their customer service teams aren't allowed to address issues when they broke their agreement. They had four chances to respond or compensate me. I wonder if currys will even read this or post a stock reply proving they don't even listen to complaints.
Issue with first delivered chest freezer... these things happen, replacement arranged... replacement obviously a reject or damaged second quality item unashamedly offered unboxed... necessitated once more, hours waiting on the phone to arrange yet another replacement... not to mention a round trip of 50 miles each time with the replacement code required to be shown in-store.
There has to be better ways to shop and the old story about Chinese crap, still rings true... in my experience
Washing machine was installed by engineer incorrectly and leaked over the floor damaging flooring and kitchen units. Would they accept liability? Still battling to get any acknowledgement, meanwhile we're hugely out of pocket.
Placed an order for an e-scooter on 13 June 2025 (Order: CUR*******062) and paid extra for next-day delivery. The money was deducted immediately, and I received an order confirmation. But the order status stayed stuck at "In Progress." When I contacted Currys support, I was told the order "didn't go through" – despite having confirmation and a payment taken. I was advised to cancel it. So I did. Reluctantly, I placed another order the next day (Order: CUR*******531), this time through their ShopLive Sales Rep who guaranteed me the item was in stock and would be delivered the next day. Again, I paid extra for next-day delivery. Guess what? The order status again shows "In Progress." No dispatch. No delivery. Nothing. I call Support – again – and they tell me the order was confirmed, but there was no stock when I ordered (contradicting what their sales rep told me). Apparently now there is stock, so they'll maybe ship it. No emails. No communication. Just radio silence unless I call them myself. This entire experience has been beyond frustrating. Completely unreliable, misleading communication, and horrible customer service. I will never shop at Currys again – even if my life depended on it. My advice: Stay far, far away from Currys. You'll regret ever placing an order with them.
We have previously ordered and had delivered (the last time just four days ago) numerous items from Curry's. We have a Curry's account. Today we have been waiting-in for the delivery (that we paid for) from Curry's (of an item of £1,000+, the second this week) with no contact from anyone at Curry's apart from a driver five hours ago asking where our property was in East London. When I told him we were in Buckinghamshire he said Curry's had put the wrong postcode on the order – a postcode 40 miles away on the other side of London. How can this even be possible when we have a Curry's account and when Curry's delivered to us previously just four days ago? Anyway, the driver told me that he would call his manager and get back to me. When he did not, I called him back and asked what was happening. I was told that his manager would call me back. He did not. It is now five hours later, and I have just got off the phone with a Curry's helpline person (located several thousand miles away, reading off a script and sounding barely human) to again ask for some information about the delivery to be told that they could not talk to me about the order as I had not confirmed the delivery postcode. When I pointed out that this was because Curry's had somehow contrived to ignore the postcode I had given for the delivery - the postcode on our Curry's account, the postcode that they delivered to just four days ago - and attempted to deliver to an incorrect postcode that they had erroneously attached to the order I was told that I would need to cancel the order and re-order from scratch from the Curry's website. When I asked to speak to a manager about this botched delivery, this poor service, this ridiculous situation I was told that a manager would call me back in six days. Six days!? We are now sitting here completely in the dark about the delivery of the item we bought and paid for wondering if someone human will ever think to call us and tell us what is going on. Needless to say, this will be the last time this Curry's account holder and past purchaser of thousands of pounds worth of Curry's items will ever again buy from Curry's.
Ordered a keyboard and mouse for instore collection, I drove 20 mins to the store and the online team had sent the wrong mouse. The guy at customer service rang the online team and put me on the phone to them. They told me to take the items home and they will send DPD to pick them up the next day (yes, I was told to send both back even though only the mouse was incorrect), and then they'd send the correct order to the store for me to collect. They refused to send the correct order to my house, so another 40 minute round journey for me because of their screw-up. The items were collected 3 days ago and I've heard nothing, I've been on web chat twice and no one has any idea when I'll hear anything, just that I could 'expect to hear within 7-14 days'. This is atrocious customer service and I will never shop at Currys again. And I will persuade other family and friends to steer clear from now on. What a joke.
I ordered a dishwasher and paid extra to have it installed. Product was incorrectly installed, meaning I had to get my son to reinstall it. When I rang to get my money back on the cost of the install, as my son had to dissassemble my kitchen to get to the pipes and install it properly, I was told in no uncertain terms that I wouldnt be getting a refund, and wouldn't be able to talk to a manager as they don't take calls from customers. All in all, i'm taking the matter further to get my money back and will never use this substandard company again. Avoid at all costs...
I bought the wrong product online and it was quick and easy to cancel and get a refund. Thank you
I bought the wrong product online and it was quick and easy to cancel and get a refund. Thank you
Replaced my gas hob & I called 4 times the same day asking to return the recycled hob as the new job parts were very low quality. I was told by all 4 Currrys customer service people that the recycled hob & parts will be returned on the same day but didn't & the next day when I called Currys, they said that it's not even collectible from re-cycling Centre & will not be returned. Next time will buy from John Lewis & will never buy from Currys as awful customer service by Currys.
I have had my TV in for repair that they couldn't fix I had it under warranty and was seeing if it was fixable which was fine I could still watch TV I have gotten it back today where there is cracks they didn't follow procedures and tell me it could be more damaged in transit I now have them telling me they won't give me a replacement for there mistake
Reported faulty item Dec 26th. First date for repair was canceled, then wouldn't rearrange for after 2pm so I didn't lost a full date pay. Rearrange for Feb, the guy came with the handle but no screw! The main part I repeatedly told both currys and bexo. So almost 2 months after reporting fault STILL not fixed. Then the problem would arise of having to lose a day's pay for incompetence over a screw!. Finally decided to just swap for a new oven as weirdly somehow easier than replacing a screw. Was told on the phone that all I had to do was call the store and give them the authorization code to arrange for a new oven to be delivered. Was told it was simple. Just phone ect. Obviously this was also untrue as after hours on the phone calling different numbers that we given I finally go through to be told this couldn't be done on the phone and I had to go to the store. Brilliant I live nowhere near the store it was purchased in. Phoned back again to be told I could speak to the store manager and explain. Again not as simple as that as Noone answers the phone. So after wasting hours and hours and constant stress I had to waste another hour and a half round trip to go the the store, and wasting fuel. I was told I had to so to the store it was bought it. So after hours in the phone, I drive to the store. Only there to be told I could have gone to my local currys and didn't need to go to the store. To be honest I'm disgusted, as a neurodivergent, this has caused significant stress, and has cost me my time and money to sort out an issue that was actually simple.
Where do I even begin?
I had an awful experience in Watford's shop.
The manager UCHIT was super rude and disrespectful.
Here goes the story: went there to buy something as a gift for someone, and a stuff helped me to get what I wanted and went back to the till to pay. I paid in cash, and while I was waiting for my products to come, the manager came and asked me, "Why do you buy these two products", and I said as gifts, for someone. So he asked me if I am willing to return them, and I said, well not sure, If they don't like it, of course I will.
Then he added that couple of months ago I came and bought an expensive item, and I returned it the next day ( this is true), so I said that is correct, so I asked him if it was a problem, he said no, but we know you are going to return it again, and I need to know why and see if everything is legit. I was confused. What does that even mean?
If the box is open, they won't refund it to you, but they DO open the product there once you go for a refund.
The manager said that NOBODY BUYS THAT EXPENSIVE GIFTS FOR SOMEONE, AND RETURNS IT THE NEXT DAY.
IF the company has a return policy for 30 days, THEY SHOULD NOT ASK YOU anything about the reason you want to return it, as long it hasn't been opened.
Issue remains unresolved. Having bought a TV online and being led to believe one was available in store this was not the case. Eventually the TV was delivered. On setting up the new TV it was broken (cracked screen). Contact customer services to be given a runaround. Web chat useless. I was told that the TV would be collected 2 days later however, a replacement would not be dispatched until the TV was received back to their warehouse. Potential turnaround of a further 5-7 days! In 2024 how can a technology retailer be proud of this post-purchase customer care? I'm out of money until the replacement TV arrives, whenever that will be. Lesson? Should have gone with Amazon! 0 out of 5!
If I could give 0 stars it would reflect the service from this company.
Online order on 6/12/2023
Told several times from 8th December onwards that is would be delivered the next day, this was on the webchat and telephone and in store. Attended store on 19th December after continually being fobbed off with lies. Advised in store that the customer services should have the knowledge to advise that the item was lost in transit. Had to then phone Customer Servcies (more lack of/not a clue in) to request refund as lost in transit. No refund as of 8th Jan. Rang Customer Services on 8th Jan, advised refund would be with me on that day, still no refund. Rang today, after 40 minutes on the phone going around in circles with these people they still haven't refunded me.
Absolutely a shambolic mess of a company! I ordered a couple of products online { a tv and ps5 deal} on the 27th of December, the address that was on my account was my old address as I have recently moved but as soon as I realised it was incorrect { about half an hour later} I called back to change the address but I was told I would have to cancel the order and reorder when I get the money back, I agreed, however, I was told I had to call back at a later time that day, called back and cancelled the order, all good I thought but I never got a conformation email so the day after, I called back only to be told that part of the order was cancelled so I then asked again I need the whole order cancelled, all good I thought only to get an email from dpd saying they have received my order from currys and it's been ongoing since then. I was told I would get a full refund then a partial refund and the rest would get given back to me when they receive the item back that THEY sent out even though I have told them since day 1 I was cancelling the whole order. The refund was rejected TWICE because again they messed up and tried to refund me on the wrong account! I was assured it was sorted and I will get my partial refund today, still no refund! This has been ongoing for 3 weeks tomorrow! I have put 2 complaints in and the complaints department haven't even got in contact, they keep sending me emails to say they are looking into my case! This is causing me a great deal of stress to the point of crying. I am at limbo here, nothing is getting done, I'm banging my head against a brick wall. The handlers won't even pass me onto the correct department or give me any contact details for the relevant team.
Good prices but aftersales online is very slow & difficult to attain! The chatbot services are absolutely horrible & really not helpful. If Curry's online could improve customer service & have more clear & rapid aftersales then I would happily give 5 stars but I find I now pay just a little more sometimes and purchase from other retailers, as its a much better customer experience if things go wrong or I need to return an item.
Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to inform you of how disgusted I am with your service, for multiple reasons.
I purchased a Samsung Frame 75inch TV from Curry's, this was due to be installed on 31/12/23. Order Number - CUR*******312
On arrival a 2 young men were present, one of them basically ran into the house, looked at my wall and said, "Nah mate we not going to be able to do it, do you want to call to reshedule?"
After discussion he said that he was in a rush as it was New Years Eve and his reasons behind not fitting is that a plug socket was in the wall where the TV would go. The TV socket stuck out no more than 1cm! The day before I had a call from Curry's which I assume is a qualifying call, this was to ask me numerous questions before the TV was fitted. I answered all questions over the phone on 30/12/23 and he explained there would be no issues with the fitting.
The install guys on 31/12/23 left a 75 inch TV in the middle of my living room, and left the place in a complete mess with cardboard and rubbish everywhere, then they drove off and said I would have to get back in touch with Currys for someone else to come and fit it. Imagine this on New Years Eve with my 3 Children excited to watch the fireworks from London on the TV at night time!
After this event I have made numerous calls to Curry's to raise a complaint and got absolutely no where! I am also appalled that all your customer service is distributed away from the UK and no matter how many times I call or whatever number I call none of them are based in England and none of them can help, other than saying I should get a call from a manager in around 4 DAYS!
Below are my following call logs
31st December - Nothando, was hold for 26 minutes while she tried to get a manager then explained she has logged and will get a call in 4 working days.
2nd January - Spoke with Himanshu, raised my complaint once again and he said he couldnt help
4th January - Spoke with Kevin Sibiya, Kevin gave me a case number (*******) Kevin said he couldnt help but has raised it with second level complaints
6th January - FINALLY received a call from 'a manager' again not based in the UK, didnt have my case number so I had to cover the full thing again regarding my poor experience. I explained during the call I had to pay privately for someone to come and fit the TV as a cost of £150, I also paid an Electrician £90 to remove the plug socket. I was offered at this point £100 voucher for my troubles. I refused the voucher and said this is simply not good enough. I was told this would then go back to another manager who will give me a call. I am STILL waiting for a call, and I am no further down the line.
My Next Complaint
I purchased the TV from Curry's (instead of John Lewis) Due to the fact on https://www.topcashback.co.uk/home/ you had a promotion, this offered 16.5% Cashback, I paid £2199 for the TV. The cash back was logged, then on Topcashback it has now been declined, for the reason that it had a £35 discount for the TV for installation purposes. I am sure at this point you can understand my frustration with not only the above service I have received from Curry's, but now the fact I will not get my 16.5% Cashback!
I want all the above actioned with immediate effect, if this is not actioned with reasonable compensation, please come and collect this Television, under my cancellation rights.
Feel free to call me directly, I would also request a response in written format.
I look forward to your response
James Sharpe
Ordered a mobile phone and on the 25th November I received am open parcel with an empty box. I immediately contacted Curry's who said they would investigate it and be in touch by the 14th December... well 14th December came and I hadn't heard anything so I got back in touch when I was told it had been escalated and to allow 24-48 hours but once again this time went and I still had not heard anything! I contacted Curry's again and again told it had been escalated now to the refund team, please allow 24-48 hours but again nothing so again I contacted them and was told they were going to manually order the refund and allow 3-5 days which again I did and nothing. Not once has Curry's contacted me regarding this issue and now every time I get through to anyone they hang up or leave the chat. I still have no phone or refund from them and they are impossible to deal with. NEVER order from Curry's, they don't care about their customers and I now believe them to be theives. I have caught them in at least 6 lies now and when confronted about these lies guess what... the agent dissappears.
Despicable service! Cooker broke - in October (we are now in December). They sent another with fitters to install who decided to play electrician and state it couldn't be connected with the fuse I have - despite it was a like-for-like, replacing a cooker that has been there for two years! I raise this in store (Nottingham), who send out two different engineers who say the last two didn't know what they were talking about and the electric circuit is perfectly fine (one was an electrician). They unbox the cooker left by the last two engineers to find it damaged, so couldn't fit it. They raised yet another delivery (a third cooker and I still have the broken one AND the damaged one in my house). No one bothers to turn up on that delivery. I go into the store and they state it was cancelled by the fitters as they had told me to re order the cooker myself and as I hadn't, they cancelled fitting! Which was not true! I spent two hours in store whilst this ongoing issue - which is now 2 months ongoing - was dealt with. They inform me the cooker is now out of stock (probably because they are all in my house!) and it's highly unlikely it will be in stock or be fitted before Christmas. So not only will it be three months by the time I get the cooker, I am without one for Christmas. So no Christmas dinner for my family! I ask to speak to the manager as the front of store staff are running back and forth to speak to him. He says he will be 2 minutes. I ask again and again and again when he doesn't come. Staff keep going to get him. After half an hour they call him to see if he is coming to speak to me and he says he has gone home! I leave the store after 2 hours with no real resolution - just wait to see! Oh - and an apology which I am sure covers the hundreds of pounds I've spent on takeaways, meals out and the lack of a Christmas dinner! They offered me another cooker which was £50 more than the one i have but was a different colour and one I didn't like. Today I received a call from a store manager who wasn't at work when I had gone in the day before. He had picked up an email from the staff regarding my issue. He told me there is nothing they can do and said that I was offered another cooker which I declined! I highlighted that no one was GIVING me anything for free, this was not a charitable donation. I had PAID for the original cooker and was made to feel that if I didn't accept any old cooker they were offering, then I've had my chance, so tough luck! Again I repeated the cooker they offered wasn't the same colour and I shouldn't just have to make do with something - that cost over £400. Again he said 'well that's it'. I asked his name and he gave me his Christian name- I asked for his last name and he refused to give it! The customer service in store (by front of house team) was brilliant and they were very apologetic and didn't try to defend Curry's and noted that I have not had a satisfactory service. However, one manager refused to speak to me and the other spoke to me with utter disrespect and made me feel like I'm in the wrong! I have emailed the CEO (who gives his last name, even though Jim won't)! I have called to lodge a complaint as calls are recorded. Please avoid Curry's at all costs! Managers done give a damn and customer care is out of the window. Meanwhile I will enjoy my apology and tough luck for Christmas dinner!
