The worst selling experience I have ever had.
I sold a Kurt Geiger handbag through Vestiaire Collective for approximately PLN 820. I personally handed the parcel to an employee at the drop-off point, and it was accepted without any objections.
A few days later, I was informed that Vestiaire Collective had allegedly received an empty parcel. The buyer was refunded, while I was left without my handbag and without payment.
What is most shocking, however, is how this case was handled.
The photographs provided by Vestiaire Collective show a parcel that is heavily torn and damaged in multiple places. The cardboard box appears to have been ripped open. Despite this, the company claims that the carrier found no evidence of interference during transport and that the parcel was delivered in the same condition in which it was accepted.
The shipping label shows a printed weight of 1 kg. The same label also contains a handwritten weight of approximately 298.9 g. Later, in their correspondence, I was informed that the parcel weighed 250 g during transit.
To this day, nobody has been able to explain:
Where these different weight figures come from, who wrote the handwritten weight on the label, when it was added, or on what basis it was recorded.
Despite repeated requests, I have not been provided with the documentation that Vestiaire Collective claims to have relied upon. I have not been shown the scan history, weight records, or any evidence that supposedly supports their decision.
At one point, I was even told that I should have inspected the parcel upon delivery. The problem is that I was not the recipient — I was the seller. The parcel was delivered directly to Vestiaire Collective's warehouse. This response alone raises serious questions about how carefully my case was actually reviewed.
The parcel arrived at their facility on Saturday. I was not informed that it was allegedly empty until Tuesday. No explanation has ever been provided regarding what happened during that period.
After weeks of correspondence, multiple appeals, and even an internal arbitration review, I received nothing more than repeated statements that the decision would remain unchanged.
I feel completely unprotected as a seller. I lost my handbag, I lost the proceeds of the sale, and I never received a clear explanation for the major inconsistencies in this case.
The matter has now been referred to the European Consumer Centre for further review.

As a seller, it is frustrating that offers made do not stand. I have had several people make an offer, I accept and then nothing. Offers should be binding. I feel like it's a waste of time.

I bought a burgundy Bottega Veneta large pouch in intrecciato lambskiin leather, never worn, and at a good price. It arrived having been posted immediately here in UK, vetted quickly by Vestiaire Collective, and seemed just as described, with its dust bag, card etc. So far so excellent. BUT in minutes I became aware that the dust bag was impregnated with the heavy scent of the seller's perfume, and it has taken a huge effort to minimise the smell. I have hung the dust bag outside day and night for at least 2 weeks, and only when exposed to strong, direct sunlight during our recent heatwave, did it start to lessen. This should have been picked up by V C on inspection, and on forwarding the item to me, they should have pointed it out, and offered me the option to return the bag to the seller.
