I rented with Green Motion, and until today I have a nice stress free experience.
Had two cars from here. 1st time the only suitable vehicle they had was badly damaged but drove ok. 2nd time I booked a Skoda estate and got a VW Amarok 4-Motion monster truck. Was fun to drive but cost a fortune in fuel. The guy at the Manchester Airport office is a real character.

Last time I booked with you, I turned up only to be told there were no vehicles of the type I had booked available. I was then offered a series of unsuitable alternatives before being offered a vehicle of the type I had booked, which had accident damage and which was filthy inside and full of junk. Because I had travel commitments, I had no choice but to accept. The member of staff was overly familiar - I object to being repeatedly addressed as 'Bruv' by a complete stranger. I was told the mix-up was because I had booked through a 3rd party website - my response that I had booked 2 weeks in advance and had emailed to check you had the booking received no coherent reply.
Whilst I was waiting to be served on my arrival at the collection point, I overheard the same member of staff giving horribly inaccurate directions to the customers in front of me. I suggest he learns how to use Google Maps.
In addition, the female member of staff was quite rude and offhand to me when I returned the vehicle.
My 4th time maybe 5th using rental cars from Green motion, cars clean and in tiptop condition. Speedy helpful checkin and drop-off. Good price / service. Only small issue, there can be quite a wait for (free) transfer bus to/from the terminal. Give yourself plenty of time. Max wait@ 20 mins

Vuyi is an amazing coordinator and made the collection and delivery seemless, to date when my orginisation rent cars and any driver is unsure of any promt we contact Vuyi.

Airport staff is aggressive selling extras, going outside of Portugal with a van rented in Portugal is extra money, Via Verde is mandatory and paid separately instead of part of the extras.

I have been using Green Motion Stansted for the past five years and have consistently had a positive experience.
The staff are always helpful and do their best to accommodate customers. The cars are usually clean, well-prepared, and in good condition rather than being old or heavily worn.
The location is close to Stansted Airport, and the shuttle bus runs frequently, making it very convenient to get to and from the terminal.
The only minor suggestions I would make are that the fuel tank is not always filled to the maximum level, which can make it difficult to know exactly how much fuel to add before returning the car. Also, during busy periods, the queues for both collection and return can be quite long.
Overall, I have always had a good experience with Green Motion Stansted and would be happy to recommend them.

Had to reject first 2 cars first had a broken seat belt. And second had engine management light on. Third car was fine. Not what you need after a 10 hour flight.
Hire site pre hire vehicle checks need to to be better.

You should make clients clearly aware that if they don't get an insurance when booking online thinking of buying it when picking up the car that will cost them 4 TIMES more!

The insurance coverage is not clear at all. I will buy it at the office.
We hired a Ford Fiesta from the Paphos, Cyprus branch last year and were completely satisfied on every count. The car was reliable and clean and the desk staff/bus drivers were engaging, very polite and efficient. We have no hesitation in recommending them which is why we are returning this year.

Had a car twice now with them and the 1st time was a nightmare when I got there due to the fact I booked a car through Ryanair and Green motion never had any booking for me but the guys there help me out big time and got me sorted, then the second time was a breeze would recommend these guys to anybody

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at [email protected]. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
